Crossrail West Stations Package 3
Crossrail West Stations Work Package 3 is a Target Cost, build only project for Network Rail to enhance and improve access to three stations on the Paddington to Reading line (P2R), which is part of the Crossrail scheme. The works involve the installation of new access for all (AfA) bridges, new station buildings and modifications to the existing Southall, West Drayton and Hayes and Harlington stations, including new lift shafts, stairways and platform works.
- AfA bridges
- New station buildings
- Lift shafts and stairs
- Platform widening and extension
- Replacement of OLE structures
- Drainage and utilities
- M&E and telecoms
Throughout delivery we devised efficient construction solutions that put passengers first and minimised disruption at the three stations. We maximised offsite prefabrication of lift shafts and eliminated the need for a temporary bridge, saving time and costs and reducing the impact of the works on the public. We worked closely with Network Rail to provide design detailing and support in the run up to the crucial Christmas 2019 possession, ensuring that all milestones could be completed successfully during the possession, avoiding a potential year-long delay. The contract is due for completion in late 2021.
