Crossrail West Stations Package 3
Arcadis
HOCHTIEF improved access and enhanced facilities at three stations (Southall, West Drayton and Hayes and Harlington) on the Paddington to Reading line (P2R). Part of the wider Crossrail scheme, the works involved installing new access for all (AfA) bridges, station buildings, lift shafts, stairways, and widening and extending platforms.
Key features:
- AfA bridges
- New station buildings
- Lift shafts and stairs
- Platform widening and extension
- Replacement of OLE structures
- Drainage and utilities
- M&E and telecoms
Throughout delivery we devised efficient construction solutions that put passengers first and minimised disruption at the three stations. We maximised offsite prefabrication of lift shafts and eliminated the need for a temporary bridge, saving time and costs and reducing the impact of the works on the public. We worked closely with Network Rail to provide design detailing and support in the run up to the crucial Christmas 2019 possession, ensuring that all milestones could be completed successfully during the possession. The works were completed in 2021.
